We're hiring: Quantity Surveyor (Full-time) | Ceredigion / West Wales
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team. The successful candidate will work across a range of projects including residential developments, social housing, commercial schemes, refurbishments, and civil engineering works.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic main contractor delivering projects across West Wales, working closely with Directors, Project Managers, Clients, Consultants, and Supply Chain partners.
Key Responsibilities
Managing all commercial aspects of projects from pre-construction through to final account
Preparation and review of Bills of Quantities, cost plans, and tender documentation
Subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and appointment
Valuation of works (including interim applications, variations, and final accounts)
Cost reporting and forecasting
Management of subcontractor payments and variations
Preparation and submission of valuations to clients
Risk management and value engineering
Contract administration (JCT Design & Build, Intermediate, etc.)
Attending site and client meetings
Maintaining strong supply chain relationships
Experience & Qualifications Required
Minimum 3+ years' experience with a main contractor
Strong knowledge of JCT contracts
Experience working on Design & Build projects
Experience in residential and commercial construction projects
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and cost reporting systems
Excellent negotiation and communication skills
Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable:
RICS accreditation (or working towards)
Knowledge of Welsh public sector frameworks
