We are currently recruiting for an Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our Therapy Team at Discovery House to support effective evidence-based specialist clinical services for both male and female service users from the age of 18. As an OT Assistant you will work closely and be offered monthly supervision from the Occupational Therapists. As part of this, you will be allocated a range of time-specific 1:1 interventions based on the individual's care needs, including support to build confidence in public transport and develop basic cookery skills. Alongside this, you will be expected to work along a range of internal and external services to offer a range of group activities, both on the ward, at the main activity hub and in the community. In-house training will be offered. This includes basic mandatory training required for the role. However, there is also information around the Model of Human Occupation, which is the framework that guides our interventions and other areas such as the use of sensory integration.
