Job Title: Engineering Manager – Support & Services Location: Barrow-in-Furness - We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role Salary: Negotiable dependant on experience What you’ll be doing Plan and execute Supportability tasks in line with programme schedules and engineering governance Ensure quality and completeness of supportability evaluations in accordance with recognised standards (e.g. S3000L, DEF STAN 00-600) Collaborate with Product Design, Systems Engineering, and ILS teams to feed evaluations into the supportability, design and sustainment strategy Ensure the integration of support engineering data using tools such as Raytheon EAGLE LSAR and MMIS Provide technical input to support reviews, including design and ILS reviews Engage in audits, peer reviews, and quality assurance activities related to LSA outputs You will have people manager responsibilities in this role Your skills and experiences Essential: Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or articulated equivalent experience Degree or HNC/HND in Engineering, Systems, or related technical discipline – Expected Understanding of supportability engineering principles and the purpose of LSA Familiarity with supportability engineering standards (e.g., DEF STAN 00-600, S3000L) and their application in engineering programmes Knowledge in the role of LSAR, provisioning data, and maintenance task development Understanding of system reliability, maintainability, and availability principles Awareness of the relationship between LSA, ILS, technical documentation, and training Knowledge of engineering lifecycle phases and change control processes Benefits As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts - you may also be eligible for an annual incentive. The Submarines Support Programme This role contributes directly to the through-life supportability, availability, and cost-effectiveness of Submarine systems and supports the development of data used in technical documentation, provisioning, training and maintenance planning. This role offers ongoing development within a rapidly expanding area of Submarine Support, backed by a long-term support strategy across its current programmes. It is well-suited to someone who enjoys working in a dynamic environment, is adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable in guiding a variety of tasks.
