We are seeking a Senior Property Underwriter within the London Market Property team. The team is responsible for writing London Market wholesale international property business, across company and Syndicate paper. The book is a mixture of International (ex US) Open Market, Binders, and Lineslip placements where we deem these accretive to our overall distribution. Our Direct and Facultative appetite is for shared and layered deals across a broad range of industries and territories with a focus on non-proportional, though we do write primary or proportional participations. Significant growth has been achieved particularly in the last three years and we are looking for a suitable candidate who can join the small but dynamic team. Core Responsibilities: To Produce, Underwrite and service Open Market, Facility and Delegated Authority Property accounts and to assist with property underwriting and departmental workflow systems, processes and related issues as necessary. Expanding the Property account in line with EGM appetites, controls, underwriting strategy, and guidelines, always maintaining a focus on bottom line underwriting profit and delivery of both Syndicate and EIID internal plans. Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key brokers and clients. Underwrite and price Property risks, including all forms of distribution, and determine the acceptability of risks for underwriting. Bind various coverages subject to authority level and answer inquiries from producers. Prepare quotations and formal proposals on new and renewal business. Ensure that documentation is completed timely and accurately according to EGM standards. Assist with the development and evolution of divisional pricing, accumulation and other systems as necessary. Assist Head of Property in addressing and resolving overdues, workflow and various clerical issues within EGM as necessary. Effectively communicate with management on all issues both within and outside the Unit as needed. Interact and coordinate activities with other departments (e.g. Claims, Loss Control, and Accounting). Liaise with other EGM underwriting departments as necessary. Recommend new procedures and programs where warranted. Furnish intelligence on the Property market, including competitor strengths and weaknesses. Responsible for complying with proper internal controls as necessary to conduct job functions and / or carry out responsibilities and / or administrative activities at EGM. Develop business through execution of new ideas and strategies which may involve accessing business outside of London maximizing the use of the existing Everest network. Understand Group appetites and how to maximize the value of both the Syndicate and company platform for the group. Skills & Abilities Experience gained in a Property Underwriting position with underwriting authority. Excellent market and product knowledge of Property Insurance- maintain and develop market knowledge including competitor profiles and products Strong Relationship building - ability to establish and maintain excellent relationships both internally and externally. Risk taking - ability to take calculated risks with favourable outcomes. Excellent negotiation skills Strategic skills - ability to determine opportunities and threats through comprehensive analysis of current and future trends. Comprehends the big picture.
