We are currently forward planning for future roles that may become available as a Customer Service - Area Relief. If you are successful in your application, you will be placed in our Talent Bank for up to six months. If a suitable opportunity becomes available during that time, you may be offered a role.

Role Details
• Location/hours: Stowmarket & Ipswich Stations, 35 hours per week (shift-based, including early starts, late finishes, weekends & nights). Stowmarket earliest start time 0500, latest finish time 22.15. Ipswich shifts are spread over a 24 hours.
• You must be able to arrange your own transport to ensure timely arrival for early and late shifts.
• You must be 18 years of age or older to apply for this position
• This is a relief position and rotas are released weekly in advance
• You will be subject to a Right to Work check & DBS check for this position.
• You will be required to successfully pass a medical, as all offers are subject to passing a safety critical medical.
• Salary progression: £25,435 initially, increasing to £26,471 after 6 months and £29,429 after 24 months.

As a Customer Service Area Hybrid Relief at Greater Anglia, you will serve as the friendly face of our organization, playing a vital role in ensuring a positive travel experience for our passengers. Full training provided and uniform provided.



Key Responsibilities

• Provide effective customer service by meeting and greeting customers, selling tickets, and answering inquiries with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
• Assist customers in using ticket machines and educate them on new ticketing technologies such as smart cards and mobile apps as well as using automatic ticket gates.
• Oversee day-to-day platform operations, ensuring smooth travel for all customers, including supporting mobility-impaired individuals.
• Offer support during disruptions by assisting customers and maintaining effective communication with Drivers and Conductors.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations by reporting faults and hazards, maintaining a clean and tidy station, and occasionally working alone.

With a team of around 3,000 colleagues, we operate 134 stations throughout Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, and Suffolk. Greater Anglia also operate Stansted Express services between London Liverpool Street and Stansted Airport.
