We are looking for an experienced and driven Commissioning Engineer to ensure the successful transition of engines and associated systems from construction through to full operational performance. Job Description: The Commissioning Engineer plays a critical role in maximising equipment availability and reliability for our customers by leading commissioning activities, coordinating internal and customer resources, and ensuring all systems are installed, tested and handed over safely and efficiently. The Commissioning Engineer will play a key role in customer satisfaction by delivering projects to specification, on time, and to the highest safety standards. Responsibilities: Commission engines and packages to maximise operational performance and availability. Coordinate and direct customer and internal resources to ensure commissioning activities are completed efficiently. Set up, configure, and operate engine and package control systems. Maintain accurate commissioning, test, and performance records. Follow detailed procedures to verify correct, safe installation and connection of engines to control systems and associated equipment. Carry out application, installation, and compliance checks prior to commissioning. Perform performance testing and trial runs to confirm equipment operates at or above specification. Use diagnostic tools and computer-based programmes to analyse performance and implement permitted operating adjustments. Produce method statements and ensure all work complies with health, safety, and contractual requirements. Ensure a smooth and timely handover from installation to operational status, meeting performance and time constraints. Take accountability for safe working practices, commissioning accuracy, and correct operation of machinery. Working at customer sites around the UK. Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Demonstrated capability in commissioning fault-finding, performance testing, and of complex machinery or engine systems. Proven experience of generator control systems, thermal systems, and power applications. Background in power electrics, electronics, and mechanical engineering. In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and safe working practices. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with customers and internal teams. Strong diagnostic, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work effectively under pressure and within time-critical, penalty-based contractual environments. Confident team player with a proactive and accountable approach.
