SWK @ Whiteley Woods is a small early years' setting located within the grounds of Whiteley Woods Outdoor Activity Centre. With have recently been graded outstanding by ofsted and are looking to increase our children's numbers. We are therefore looking for an outstanding practitioner to join our team.
As our setting is fully outdoors, we pride ourselves on offering something a little different to our children and families. You don't necessarily need a forest school qualification to join our team, just a passion for outdoor learning in the early years. Lots of our staff have come from indoor nursery settings and have since fallen in love with our outdoor approach
The successful candidate must hold a relevant Early Years Qualification at level 3 or higher
To be considered for this position you must have:
* A relevant Early Years Qualification at level 3 or above
* Up to date knowledge and experience of the EYFS
* A pair of good sturdy outdoor boots and outdoor clothing (or willing to purchase).
You could be an ideal candidate if you:
* Have a good sense of humour, good communication skills, and will enjoy working as part of small but growing team
* Believe in a child-centred approach; observing, listening and supporting children's thoughts, feelings and interests
* Value parent partnerships within your role and exploring ways we can involve parents in children's learning and development
* Enjoy a good feast cooked in a mud kitchen - although our mud kitchen lacks a 5* food hygiene rating due to the mud, woodlice and worms the chefs can certainly whip you up a creative dish
* Have experience of outdoor cooking or are interested in learning how to cook over a fire.
* Are able to adapt and play with a range of children from 2 to 8 years.
* Are not afraid of the sun, wind, rain and other weathers, instead you can splash in the puddles, dance in the rain, sing in the sun and twirl in the wind.

The successful candidate will join our team for 3 days a week. Working hours will be between 8am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday, with occasional meetings or events in the evening or on weekends. Hours and days will be agreed with you during the recruitment process.

We support and encourage our employees to further their skills and knowledge, offering unlimited online training on BentoBot, Noodle Now, as well as the opportunity to complete training provided by Sheffield City Council Early Years' team. We will also offer in-house Forest Skills training as part of the induction process. We believe our staff will thrive when supported to achieve their personal goals, thus we will always consider supporting our employees to participate in training through other providers also.
