Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeper
Part Time
We are a busy and well-established accident repair centre looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our team.
Location: Autofix Accident Repair Centre Loanhead, EH20 9QH
Hours: 20 - 25 hours per week
Salary: Depending on experience
You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial records of the business, ensuring accuracy and compliance. This is a key role supporting the smooth running of our accounts function.
Key Responsibilities
Maintaining accurate financial records and ledgers
Processing purchase invoices, receipts, sales invoices, and payments
Bank reconciliations
Managing accounts payable and receivable
Preparing for VAT returns in line with HMRC requirements
Assisting with payroll including pension and statutory payments (if experienced)
Manage ONS surverys
Support month-end and year-end financial reporting
Liaising with accountants and management
Monitoring cash flow and reporting on financial activity
Requirements
Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role
Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
Good understanding of VAT and basic accounting principles
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Strong excel skills
Experience in the automotive or repair industry (desirable but not essential)
