As demand for our products continues to grow, we are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Estimator to join our team.
Key Responsibilities
We are seeking a meticulous Estimator to play a vital role in preparing accurate estimates for our projects. As an Estimator, you will be responsible for analysing customer inquiries, schedules, and bills, compiling detailed quotations, and skilfully balancing project requirements with client budget priorities. Your expertise in negotiation and identifying opportunities to introduce unique selling points (USPs) and value engineering options will be essential to excel in this role.
This is not a passive admin role. You'll need to make technical judgments and anticipate customer requirements, highlighting and addressing technical issues as part of the broader commercial team. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Reviewing tenders, specifications, and contract documentation to gain a comprehensive understanding of project requirements.
* Identifying opportunities to introduce innovative USPs and value engineering options to enhance our project offerings.
* Developing and adhering to an estimating plan, effectively managing your workload to meet tender submission deadlines.
* Preparing detailed and accurate quotations by meticulously reviewing schedules, specifications, and contract documentation.
* Sourcing competitive prices from suppliers, as needed, to ensure cost-effective estimates.
* Delivering well-presented tender submissions that demonstrate a prominent level of detail and qualification, adding significant value to our proposals.
* Following up on submitted tenders to obtain customer feedback and insights.
Required Skill and Experience
Essential:
* Proficiency to GCSE level (or equivalent) in mathematics and IT.
* Proficiency in MS Office suite, with particular regard to Microsoft Excel (complex calculations and data analysis are commonplace tasks).
* Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities, enabling effective interactions with clients and suppliers.
* Demonstrated thoroughness and reliability in handling estimating tasks, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
* Strong team player, capable of collaborating effectively with colleagues and other stakeholders.
* Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines efficiently.
* Enthusiasm and a proactive drive to continually improve and stay abreast of industry trends and best practices.
Desirable:
* Experience in the internal doorset industry or related construction product sectors.
* Familiarity with fire door regulations, ironmongery scheduling, or acoustic requirements.
CAD/drawing software understanding would be an advantage.

Pay: £28,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
