Overview

The role of Programme Facilitator is to deliver a range of group work programmes aimed at changing the attitudes, beliefs and behaviour of People on Probation. The job holder will deliver interventions across a large regional area where travel will be required. The post holder will be Regionally based and sit in the Interventions Team and report to the Programme Manager. There will be a requirement to regularly work unsocial hours (including evenings and weekends).


Responsibilities

* Plan and deliver Interventions in a group or on an individual basis to people on probation, developing a therapeutic and safe working environment in line with operational manuals while considering different learning styles and abilities.
* Adhere to safeguarding statutory responsibilities for children and adults and manage all risks of serious harm in line with multi-agency policies.
* Manage group dynamics and the range of complexities and needs of people on probation to ensure effective targeting of the intervention and that learning outcomes are achieved; address any problematic behaviour within groups.
* Monitor participants’ progress, make informed recommendations around suitability, risk, safety and wellbeing, and record progress on relevant systems (pre, during and post).
* Liaise and provide timely communication and analysis of people on probation's progress to Probation Practitioners and other agencies (Courts, Criminal Justice Agencies, etc.).
* Contribute to risk assessment related to offending and address related needs.
* Identify actions to protect children and vulnerable adults, promote welfare, and comply with safeguarding policies and procedures.
* Deliver workshops and briefings to Probation staff and external stakeholders on the range, purpose and content of interventions available.
* Demonstrate pro-social modelling by reinforcing pro-social behaviour and challenging anti-social behaviour.
* Participate in regular video monitoring feedback sessions to ensure audit standards are adhered to and to review and reflect on practice, implementing advised professional development.
* Collaborate as part of a team to support performance targets and integrity requirements.


Role requirements

* Train in and deliver group work programmes for People on Probation as outlined in Accredited Programme Manuals and other interventions run by the Programmes Team.
* Undertake regular feedback sessions and respond constructively to feedback.
* Assist in preparation and planning of programmes as required by the Treatment Manager.
* Monitor participants’ progress and record their progress on relevant systems.
* Contribute to the assessment of risk that a group participant may pose.
* Identify and take necessary actions to protect children and vulnerable adults and promote welfare in line with safeguarding policies.
* Travel to other locations within the NE region may be required.
