A multi-billion dollar AUM hedge fund are looking to make a newly created ‘HR Director’ hire for its London office.
The Director level hire will work in an expanding HR team, with a remit split between HR generalist, HR strategy and management responsibilities. The hire will take global ownership for a specific part of the business (for example Front Office, Non-investment, technology etc.), running oversight / management of all HR responsibilities front-to-back + broader business HR strategy - this extends to management of HRBP's that cover BAU for the respective area of the business. Those BAU tasks include recruitment, HR reporting, HR processes specific to the business unit (e.g. Performance Management, Staff handbook attestations, SMCR Staff certification process) & compensation and benefits.
The hire will regularly work on major projects for the broader business - current examples are related to the expansion of overseas offices / the opening of new offices, rebranding, developing a stronger diversity policy/programme, newly developed intern & graduate programmes etc.
This is a high-profile role, with close working relationships with the senior management / managing partners from day one. The hire will have the opportunity to sit in on the monthly executive committee meeting, having a genuine input on business decisions.
The ideal candidate will ideally have 10-20yrs relevant HR experience, within a hedge fund, IB or prop trading firm. A CIPD qualification is preferred, but not a necessity (the firm are happy to fund a CIPD/IMC/CFA qualification). Candidates should ideally have a strong academic profile.
There is no set salary band for the role – my client will instead focus on providing the successful candidates with a strong increase on his/her current base. A top performer will receive a large % of their base as an annual bonus. It is worth noting that the firm offer one of the best benefits packages in the London Hedge Fund space.
