Are you an experienced Registered Nurse looking for additional hours? We have an exciting opportunity for a Pre-Assessment Nurse to join our friendly Outpatients team at Practice Plus Group on a Bank basis.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring our patients are fully prepared—clinically and emotionally—for their surgical journey. Working alongside a skilled multi-disciplinary team, you’ll help deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care in a modern and well-equipped hospital.

What you'll be doing
* Carry out comprehensive pre-operative assessments to ensure patients are clinically fit and ready for surgery.
* Identify potential risks and make appropriate referrals where necessary.
* Support the development of nurse-led pre-assessment clinics, helping to shape service delivery.
* Work closely with consultants, anaesthetists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate the patient journey from pre-admission to discharge.
* Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in line with professional and regulatory standards.
* Provide information, education, and reassurance to patients and their families before their procedure.
* Mentor and support junior staff and students, fostering a learning and collaborative environment.
What we’ll look for in you
We’re looking for a motivated and confident nurse who thrives in a busy, patient-focused environment. You’ll need to have:
* NMC registration (Level 1) as a Registered Nurse.
* Experience in pre-assessment, surgical or acute care nursing.
* Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
* Strong communication and organisational abilities.
* A compassionate and professional approach, always putting the patient first.
It would also be great if you have:
* A post-basic qualification in physical assessment or history taking.
* Experience in orthopaedics, general surgery, ophthalmology, ENT or gynaecology.
