Overview
The Associate Director for HTA will lead strategies on behalf of our clients to secure positive recommendations from HTA bodies in the UK and Ireland (e.g., NICE, MCS, NCPE) and Europe (e.g., EU JCA, AMNOG, TLCR, HAS). This role ensures timely and successful market access for our client’s products.
This position requires expertise in UK health policy, evidence generation, and stakeholder engagement, and a strong understanding of European HTA submissions.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and lead HTA strategy and submissions.
* Act as a strategic partner for clients, building rapport and ensuring a deep understanding of their product portfolio and access requirements.
* Provide strategic advice on HTA submissions to clients and internal project teams.
* Guide and mentor HTA consultants, ensuring projects and proposals are delivered on time and on budget.
* Represent clients in HTA consultations and scientific advice meetings.
* Educate internal teams on HTA trends, NHS and health system policy changes, and implications for access.
* Identify evidence gaps and support the design of economic modelling approaches (cost‑effectiveness and budget impact).
* Oversee evidence generation: systematic literature reviews, clinical opinion, statistical analysis, and economic modelling tailored to each HTA body’s requirements.
* Prepare for and facilitate advisory boards and other strategy meetings to support HTA strategy development.
* Support the HTA Director in business planning, revenue delivery, and business development activities.
* Build the visibility of the Petauri HTA function internally and externally.
* Manage HTA consultants and contribute to the Evidence account‑based partnership approach.
* Lead new business opportunities and develop proposals and pitches for HTA and other Petauri services.
* Support marketing activities: develop thought leadership articles, contribute to webinars, and participate in conferences.
* Ensure timely completion of project paperwork and maintain organized project folders.
* Communicate effectively with line manager and project teams during normal working hours.
Functional Leadership
* Deputise for the HTA Director as required and support business planning.
* Model values‑based leadership and provide matrix and/or line management to HTA consultants.
* Stay current with new HTA trends and policy.
* Contribute to the Evidence account‑based partnership strategy.
