Job Description
As a Development Support Engineer, you will play a key role in the successful operation of our Sports Platform environments. The Sports Platform department is responsible for the critical platforms that support bet placement, settlement, Cash Out, back-office tools, front end services, and more.
The Development Support Engineering team consists of delivery-focused, diligent, pragmatic, and distributed systems experts. You will apply industry best practice, alongside bespoke services and tooling, to administer and operate Sports Platform production platforms. You will collaborate with the wider software development team to ensure optimal performance and availability of our global-scale production systems.
Responsibilities
* Operate and administer Sports Platform production environments to ensure reliability and performance.
* Collaborate with the wider software development team to maintain high availability of critical production systems.
* Manage system changes, monitor performance, and respond to incidents as part of a distributed engineering team.
* Forecast production demand and capacity planning to meet service levels.
Qualifications
* Demonstrable experience with Linux and Unix, including Bash, AWK, SED and grep.
* Knowledge and experience of GNU utilities.
* Ability to make decisions under pressure.
* Experience with Python.
* Strong understanding of networking, including host and preferably media layers.
* Adaptable with the ability to learn quickly.
* Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
