A respected third-sector organisation is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented
Finance Assistant
to support its finance operations across Edinburgh and Midlothian.
Working closely with the Finance Manager, you'll play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing payments and expenses, managing reconciliations, and supporting the wider finance function. This is a varied and rewarding role within a values-led organisation that makes a real difference in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
* Process invoices, credit notes, staff expenses, and grant administration
* Manage supplier payments, petty cash, and bank reconciliations
* Support with payroll, audit preparation, and financial reporting
* Maintain accurate records using Xero, Excel, and other finance tools
* Assist with general finance admin and contribute to continuous improvement
About You:
* Experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role
* Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles (e.g. accruals, prepayments)
* Proficient in Xero, Microsoft Excel, and Office 365
* Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
* Able to work independently and manage competing priorities
* Experience with ApprovalMax or Hubdoc is desirable
