The school, based in Dorking, provides support for children aged 9-16 with social, emotional, and mental health challenges. All students have an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) detailing their specific needs. Pupils may struggle with forming healthy relationships, and may exhibit high anxiety and challenging behaviors.
The school is part of an award-winning trust with schools across Surrey, London, Sussex, and Berkshire. Staff have access to ongoing support and training through The Training School, aiding career development. This opportunity suits both experienced practitioners and recent graduates eager to start a career in special needs education.
Responsibilities:
* Deliver intervention lessons in maths and English for KS3/4 pupils, bridging learning gaps, and building confidence
* Manage children's behavior and support their learning and participation
* Encourage social skills development and support individual needs
* Participate in team meetings and training
* Maintain progress records
* Support safeguarding regulations
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
* Experience with KS1 and KS2 SEMH, with ability to work with KS3 and KS4
* Not suitable for NQTs
* For primary teachers transitioning from mainstream, demonstrate relevant experience or interest in special needs
* Flexibility in working patterns
Summary:
* Nurture Teacher – Intervention – Primary – Mental Health
* Daily rate: £140 - £220 (5 days, 30 hours to 4:00 pm)
* Full-time and part-time roles, flexible hours, short and long-term contracts
