About the Role

You will discuss non-compliant applications with works promoters, decide on subsequent actions such as implementing the Section 74 overrun process or issuing fixed penalty notices, and coordinate permit approvals or refusals in line with SEPS SLRS requirements.

You will continuously monitor permits, projects, and programs to identify clashes and collaboration opportunities. Based on system advice, experience, and local knowledge, you will proactively negotiate with works promoters to schedule works with minimal network disruption, applying the Street Works Team policies.

Additionally, you will coordinate and challenge work promoters on their work arrangements, including timing, location, and traffic management, ensuring compliance with NRSWA, TMA, SEPS, and SLRS standards to serve highway users effectively.

To be considered, your application should clearly demonstrate:

* Good knowledge of permitting systems
* Good knowledge of Traffic Management
* Experience working within NRSWA/TMA legislation for a Highway Authority or Utility Company
* Understanding of the Road Traffic Act and Highway Act
* Ability to work successfully as part of a high-profile team
* Adaptability and flexibility under pressure
* A Street Works Qualification Registration (SWQR)

As part of your application, you will upload your CV and answer these questions:

* Describe your experience with permitting systems, providing specific examples.
* Explain your understanding of traffic management principles and their application in your work, especially related to NRSWA and TMA.
* Provide an example of ensuring compliance with the Road Traffic Act and Highway Act, including how challenges were handled and outcomes achieved.
