Recruitment Officer (with HR & Admin Support Duties) Location: Smeeth, Kent TN25 On-site Only Employment Type: Full time 37.5 hours per week Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm with 30 minutes unpaid lunch break ABOUT US The Caldecott Foundation has been helping children build a future for over 110 years. JOB PURPOSE We are now seeking a Recruitment Officer to take the lead on our recruitment process and support key HR functions. This is a varied, rewarding, and people-focused role where no two days are the same. KEY RESPONSIBILITES Recruitment (Core Focus): Create and place engaging job adverts across appropriate platforms. Manage incoming applications and CVs. Communicate with applicants throughout the recruitment process. Schedule interviews by coordinating with hiring managers and candidates. Prepare interview packs and documentation. Create and update job descriptions and person specifications. Carry out all pre-employment checks including references, DBS, and occupational health. Issue offers letters and employment contracts. Arrange start dates and ensure smooth onboarding for new starters. Build and maintain relationships with community partners to expand recruitment reach. HR Support Duties: Monitor and process DBS renewals for current staff. Respond to reference requests for former employees. Support the management and communication of the Foundation’s employee benefits. Assist with various stages of the employee lifecycle, particularly onboarding. General Administration & Reception: Provide general administrative support to the HR team Cover reception as needed, including greeting visitors and handling calls. WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR Experience in a recruitment-focused role (in-house or agency). Understanding of safer recruitment practices (particularly relevant to children’s services) – training can be provided. Strong organisational skills and time management skills. Attention to detail and a proactive, solution-focused attitude. Confident communicator, able to build strong relationships with candidates, staff, and external partners. Must be able to work on-site each day.
