About the Job:
SWB NHS Trust are currently advertising for 2 x 25 hours posts for enthusiastic and motivated Band 2 Health Care Assistants within our Imaging directorate.
We have many specialities that you will have the opportunity to experience. These are: Respiratory, Rapid Breast, Endocrinology, Cardiology, ENT and many more.
These specialties will be found in the main OPD areas in the Birmingham Treatment Centre, Sandwell Health Campus and Rowley Regis Hospital where you will be expected to take part in cross site working.
We offer a 4-6 months mentorship with an experienced team member so you can feel confident and part of the team straight away.
We would welcome applications from candidates who have previous experience and are prepared to undertake the level 2 healthcare support worker apprenticeship programme as part of their employment.
Main duties of the job
Main duties will be to assist the clinician, such as performing height & weight measurements, testing urine samples and blood pressure monitoring and then inputting the data into the Electronic Patient Record.
Undertake aspects of basic nursing care and maintenance of the ward/ department, insupport of professionally qualified members of the multidisciplinary team ensuring thehighest standard of patient/client care.
The post also requires ENT/Colorectal support with scopes.
You will be called to chaperone while the clinician examines the patient if required.
The successful candidate should be friendly, motivated and open to learning new ways of working.
