Description: DEPUTY HEADTEACHER
The Deputy Headteacher will support the Headteacher in the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the primary school, contributing to a clear vision focused on high-quality teaching, strong pupil outcomes and the wellbeing of the school community.
The role includes a teaching commitment, modelling high-quality classroom practice and maintaining high expectations for behaviour, engagement and achievement.
In line with professional standards for primary leadership, the Deputy Headteacher will:
1. Support the school's vision, values and improvement priorities.
2. Lead curriculum development, ensuring progression and continuity acroos year groups.
3. Monitor and evaluate teaching and learning, using data and evidence to drive improvement
4. Promote inclusive practice so all pupils, including those with additional learning needs, achieve their potential
5. Develop staff through coaching, mentoring and performance management
6. Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and positive behaviour
7. Build effective relationships with parents, carers, governors and the wider community
8. Deputise for the Headteacher when required
