Overview
Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation Trust is looking for Maternity Assistants to join our well established team. We are a friendly Maternity Unit and encourage learning within a supportive environment.
The midwifery assistant will be part of the multidisciplinary team in the clinical setting. The post holder is working under the direct/ indirect supervision of a midwife in providing a high quality service that meets the needs of women and their babies. They will contribute to ensuring a safe and clean working environment.

Responsibilities
* Contribute to delivering high quality maternity care under supervision as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Support women and their babies in a caring and compassionate manner.
* Assist in maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
* Demonstrate effective communication at all levels with an approachable personality.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Good interpersonal skills; effective communication at all levels.
* A good level of Maths and English is required.
* Ability to work well in a team and manage/prioritise own workload.
* Proven track record of working without direct supervision.
* Ability to work days, nights and weekends; part-time or full-time hours considered.
* Willingness to develop knowledge base to support delivery of maternity care and achieve Care Certificate usually within 12 weeks of commencement.
* Understanding of the Trust values and the philosophy of the maternity department.
