Job Description
As our Fleet Ambassador, your key objective is to ensure that all vehicles are checked for vehicle condition and road worthiness in terms of legal, corporate image and operational compliance, with exceptions reported via the vehicle check app and defect procedure. You will ensure all drivers identify and correctly report defects via the correct processes and that they are rectified. You will conduct all Owner Driver lease vehicle start/end handovers for employment, terminations, vehicle swaps and hire vans. In addition, you will provide support to the depot operation by conducting regular site and equipment checks. You will also be responsible for reporting any fleet accidents on our portal TranMan.
Key Daily Checks
* To check all fleet vehicles including rental vehicles on a daily basis and record the check and condition via the Vehicle App.
* Check 3.5 Tonne Vans to ensure they do not exceed 3.5 tonnes in weight using the weighbridge.
* Fleet Ambassador to VOR (vehicle off road) vehicles if damage or defects are found.
* Check all associated vehicle equipment, including material handling equipment, jump packs, fuel pumps and enclosure.
* Ensure the site adheres to health and safety rules, including clear traffic flow and effective use of parking.
* Ensure all drivers wear the correct DPD uniform and that vans are kept up to company standards and clean at all times.
Key Weekly Checks
* If damage is found on Owner Driver vehicles, a 21-day notice is recorded via the app.
* Record all 21-day notices/7-day notices into a Google Calendar shared with your Transport Team.
* Review outstanding 21-day notice letters with the Depot Quality Manager or Depot Manager.
* Conduct a weekly check and download information from the HGV fleet, accounting for discrepancies.
* Check Fleet Stock (mirror glasses, lamps, bulbs, etc.) and reorder as required.
* Ensure that the gritter is in full working order and clean during the winter period; report defects to your Regional Transport Engineer.
