Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled professional to join our busy Community Occupational Therapy team, providing services to individuals with disabilities. Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you will deliver Occupational Therapy input to clients and their carers, supporting them towards greater independence in their own homes.
The role requires excellent communication, assessment, analytical, and problem-solving skills. You will be responsible for preparing assessments of need and risk, and formulating outcome-focused, evidence-based support plans.
You should be capable of managing a complex caseload independently and supporting and motivating colleagues. The role involves participation in the Duty System. A sound knowledge of community care legislation and evidence of Continuing Professional Development are essential. A valid driving license is required, as travel within East Dunbartonshire is necessary.
Applicants must hold a Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy and be registered with HCPC. Successful candidates will need to undergo Reference, Criminal Records, and PVG checks.

PVG/Disclosure Scotland
All roles within East Dunbartonshire Council requiring PVG/Disclosure checks will adhere to the following criteria:
Applicants for regulated roles under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020 will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a Scheme Update check before employment confirmation.
Successful candidates will bear the cost of the check, which will be deducted from their first salary. In some cases, deductions may be made in installments following employment commencement, with approval from the HR & OD Manager.
If an employee leaves before the deduction is complete, the remaining amount will be deducted from their final salary.
This policy applies to current employees applying for roles requiring PVG/Disclosure checks.
