Role Overview
Responsible for adding and removing patients to the NUH waiting list and coordinating/booking admissions to hospital using hospital IT systems such as Medway PAS and Bookwise.
Responsibilities
* Act as the first point of contact within the Trust for patients who have enquiries regarding admission details and waiting list queries, liaising in person, by telephone, and via email.
* Maintain accurate records to ensure all elective admissions are outcomed and completed on Medway PAS in line with the Trust Access Policy.
* Prioritise workload with constantly changing demands, meet agreed deadlines, and use own initiative.
* Manage timely referrals and respond to enquiries from patients and clinicians in person, by email and on the phone.
* Provide efficient and empathetic telephone service for patients, nursing staff, and doctors.
* Work in a Day Case reception setting with daily face‑to‑face patient contact.
Qualifications
* Understanding of waiting lists and hospital admission processes.
* Experience with, or willingness to learn, Medway PAS and Bookwise (knowledge of Bookwise is advantageous).
* Strong organisational skills, ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and work independently.
* Excellent telephone manners and flexibility in answering queries from a range of stakeholders.
* Good interpersonal skills for face‑to‑face patient interactions.
