Position Description
We are seeking a Senior Ground System Engineer with experience in complex satellite ground systems and project management. Duties may include:
1. Solutioning and Strategic Planning
2. Liaising, Communicating, and Coordinating with customers and other contractors inside and outside of NOAA
3. Coordinating, tailoring, and deconflicting deliveries, documentation, processes, and communication
4. Working with the government customers and ERT leadership to improve processes and ensure the government needs are met appropriately
5. Consulting on the transition from development to operational environments
6. Change Management
7. Improving communication and coordination between various teams within the organization
8. Project Management

10. Risk Management
Required skills:
8+ years of related experience
11. Experience with satellite ground systems within 24x7 operational system environments.
12. Experience with NOAA and NASA standards, processes, procedures, and regulations
13. Demonstrated history of successful management, having met strict timelines, maintained customer relationships, and performed within budget.
14. Ability to understand and communicate recommendations related to all aspects of the ground system.
15. Good communicator, motivator and problem solver, who works well with colleagues and customers.
16. Demonstrated history of understanding customer needs and generating solutions.
17. Familiarity with NIST Security policies, processes and protocols; experience with SCADA Systems; experience with deployment to operations in a continuous availability environment.
18. Experience with NOAA satellite ground systems is desirable.
19. Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident and be able to pass a background investigation to obtain a security badge to enter the applicable government facility.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering Field, or equivalent years of experience. Program Management Professional certification desirable, not required.
Location
Work will be performed on-site in Suitland, MD with some potential telework permitted
Compensation
The salary range for this role is $48,000 - $269,000/year. This range is a good faith estimate based on similar roles across the organization. ERT uses several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the position's scope and expected duties, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
