Based within the Onshore Field Operations team, you will ensure the safe, efficient and compliant day-to-day operational management of ScottishPower Renewables (SPR) windfarm portfolio by acting as the responsible Field Supervisor based within the East Area pro-actively managing, co-ordinating and closing-out local issues directly or via sub-contractors. What you’ll be doing Ensuring all site activities and safety risks across sites are performed and executed in accordance with applicable SPR Management Systems and OSHAS 18001 Safety Management Systems, you will ensure all site activities and Environmental risks are in accordance with SPRs ISO14001 Environmental Management System. Carrying out thorough site-wide safety/technical inspections/audits for allocated sites and produce associated weekly/monthly reports detailing issues and programmes to close-out, you will co-ordinate response and close-out of issues identified during routine site inspections or as identified otherwise (i.e. turbine and infrastructure issues and repairs). Managing sub-contractors to ensure that all site activities are planned and carried out in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring optimal commercial performance of the site without compromising safety, you will attend site as required during periods of non-routine work (both WTG and wider site works) to ensure that contractor activities are being carried out in a safe and compliant manner. Ensuring statutory/regulatory compliance across site (H&S, Environmental, Planning related), you will assume delegated responsibility for site specific Work Control aspects where deemed appropriate by, and as agreed with, the Control Centre Duty Operational Controller as well as carrying out on-the-job technical/safety audits on WTG S&M contractors. Following 6-month probation period or sooner, you will be expected to participate and maintain a standby rota cycle. What you’ll bring Possessing sound knowledge of electro-mechanical generating plant and apparatus with practical experience of working under Company Safety Rules or an equivalent 'rule based' system, you will be Educated to HNC/HND/City & Guilds level or equivalent in either an Electrical or Mechanical discipline. With good organisational and interpersonal skills, you will have the ability to adapt quickly to a rapidly changing working environment and demonstrate a positive approach to change, displaying your high degree of self-motivation with a flexible approach to work. Working autonomously with minimal supervision, you will hold previous Windfarm Operational management experience and be computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications as a minimum, as well as familiarity with SCADA systems. Experience in Nordex, Vestas Siemens, Ecotechnia or Acciona turbine variants is advantageous. To be successful in this role you will need a full UK driving licence, a formal working at height qualification, an ability to work within enclosed spaces and a willingness to travel to sites across the entire ScottishPower Renewables East Area operational portfolio.
