This Project Manager post sits within Dr Jesus Rodriguez-Manzano’s group, which leads the development and application of innovative approaches for infectious disease diagnostics as part of the Fleming Initiative.
The role supports a multi-site, longitudinal programme funded by GSK, aimed at understanding how antimicrobial resistance (AMR) emerges and spreads across clinical and environmental settings. The post holder will play a central role in coordinating, managing and driving forward this component of the wider research effort
The post holder will provide comprehensive project management support for the Imperial component of the GSK-funded programme. Responsibilities will include coordinating administrative, financial and operational aspects of the project; managing timelines and ensuring deliverables are met; preparing materials and documentation for key meetings; supporting reporting requirements; and maintaining constructive relationships with internal and external partners, including GSK, NHS collaborators and academic stakeholders. The role also involves contributing to presentations, drafting documents such as business plans, supporting communication activities, and helping to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the research programme.
1. You must hold a relevant degree and have demonstrable experience in project coordination, financial administration and HR-related processes.
2. Experience within a research-intensive environment is essential, as is familiarity with grant processes, including costing and preparation of scientific documents.
3. The ability to manage multiple complex tasks, to communicate clearly and professionally at all levels, and to work proactively and independently is critical for this role.
4. Knowledge of UK or global funding body regulations, along with a working understanding of infectious diseases, AMR or clinical microbiology, would be advantageous.
5. Experience in line management or work within a research laboratory would also be desirable.
