About The Role
This role requires the hired candidate to be based in the UK, outside of London (outside the M25).
Our Junior 2D Compositors are wonderful visual storytellers. They help to define the mood, atmosphere and depth of our narratives, and highlight the charming details of our characters, props and environments.
As a Junior 2D Compositor you will be collaborating with our directors and supervisors to composite and complete the final look of the show.
Day to Day:
1. Level & composite characters onto finished backgrounds
2. Apply FX, parallax & multiplane motion to enhance finished scenes
3. Apply lighting, shading and colour effects to help boost the visual appeal of a scene when requested
4. Follow the proper naming conventions established by the production pipeline
5. Ability to work collaboratively, as well as independently
6. An appreciation of accuracy and pay close attention to detail
7. Work diligently and efficiently to meet production deadlines
About You
Must Have:
8. Good knowledge of Toon Boom Harmony’s composition tools & workflow
9. Portfolio should show an aptitude for: composition, colour, perspective & motion
10. Professional communication skills, able to take artistic direction & work within a production schedule
Bonus Points:
11. Production Tracking software experience (Ftrack, Shotgrid)
12. Knowledge of Javascript scripting
13. Knowledge of After Effects and Photoshop
14. Understanding of a 2D production pipeline
