Location: Milton Keynes (3 days in office per week)
Contract Type: Outside IR35 / initial 6 month contract
Pay Rate: £350-£420 per day.
This exciting role will enable you to build on your skills as the broadcast industry migrates away from SDI to SMPTE2110.
The main responsibilities of the Broadcast Systems Engineer are set out below:
* Conceptualise, design and deliver migration of broadcast systems.
* Manage system designs (CAD) and installation packages.
* Ensure system and service transition documentation is up to date.
* Supervision of external wiring resource.
* Collaborate with key stakeholders across the company to ensure all business requirements are met.
* Work closely with customers and suppliers during system migration.
Skills and Experience:
* Broadcast Engineering background and/or a degree or equivalent in Broadcast Engineering/Electronic Engineering/IP Media.
* An excellent understanding of the ‘live’ transmission chain in an IP broadcast environment.
* Ability and competence to evaluate technical problems using appropriate Broadcast test and measurement equipment.
* Ability to demonstrate a strong understanding of video and audio broadcast systems, video streaming protocols and compression techniques.
* Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
* Knowledge and experience of vision, sound, routing, communication and server-based systems in the context of television studios or broadcast environments.
* Hands on experience of IT, cloud and networking infrastructure.
