Recruitment Information

Caring and reliable Support Workers to work within the Chorley Domiciliary Service in Adult Social Care at Lancashire County Council. We are looking for cheerful and positive individuals who would like to make a difference to the people we support within our Adult Disability Service.

You will be welcomed into people's homes and make their day‑to‑day routine something to look forward to with your upbeat attitude and friendly persona. It is not essential that you have a background in Health and Social Care; you just need to have a good heart and a caring nature. We provide all required training to ensure you get the most from your role, with qualifications on offer – a great opportunity to progress in this service and turn it into a career you can be proud of.

We have various hours on offer, including sleep‑ins and weekend working: 20, 25, 30, 32 and 37 hours per week.

What We Are Looking For…

Passion – We want people with a passion to make a difference to the people we support, providing much‑needed support. Your commitment will be life‑changing, bringing comfort with a warm smile and the ability to support individuals with personal care, household chores, finance, medication and everyday tasks.

Empathy & Resilience – You understand the challenges our service users face, communicate clearly, and handle complex or challenging behaviour while maintaining determination and dedication to excellent care.

Reward – This role is rewarding; seeing the difference you make right before your eyes. You will receive an induction programme, mandatory training and opportunities for career development, with qualifications on offer such as a QCF qualification (NVQ Level 3 equivalent).

Benefits

Fabulous flexibility and the opportunity to create a work‑life balance, with up to 31 days annual leave plus 8 Bank Holidays and 2 additional statutory Bank Holidays. A generous public sector pension with shared AVCs available and a benefits package including support groups, cycle‑to‑work schemes, Blue Light Card Scheme, and more.

Support and development throughout your journey, with numerous opportunities for personal growth, feeling valued and achieving job satisfaction.

Inclusivity

We embrace equality and diversity and welcome all applicants.

As this is part-time, the salary quoted is full‑time equivalent; salary will be paid pro‑rata.

The post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013). If successful, you will be required to apply to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) for a disclosure.

We reserve the right to close down a vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications.
