Contract Type: Full time, permanent, 37.5 hours per week
Job Overview
As an Assistant Ecologist at Elton Ecology Ltd, you'll play a vital role in our team, assisting with a variety of tasks, from protected species and habitat surveys to report drafting and data analysis. You'll receive comprehensive training and mentoring from senior team members to develop your skills and expertise in ecological consultancy.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with protected species and habitat surveys.
* Contribute to draft reports, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and Ecological Impact Assessments.
* Analyse and process survey data, including data collected via data collection apps, bat echolocation sound files and infrared camera video data.
* Collaborate with team members and work independently as required.
* Maintain a professional attitude towards work and uphold company standards.
Qualifications & Experience
* Relevant Degree.
* Basic understanding of ecological consultancy (no prior experience necessary).
* Interest in British wildlife and field surveys.
* Ability to work in a team as well as independently.
* Professional attitude towards work.
* Ability to commute to our Castle Donington office.
* Hold a full UK driving licence.
* Eligible to work in the UK.
