Sandwell Council is looking for two caring and dedicated individuals to join our team as Care Assistants. This is your chance to empower individuals in our community to live independently, with dignity and purpose, while ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
Main duties of the job
Provide care and support. Tasks may include health-related personal tasks, personal care/bathing/showering/toileting, light meal preparation, delivering activities, record keeping, and communicating with health professionals. All activities must comply with Sandwell Metropolitan Council's policies and procedures.
About us
Fountain Court is a 16-bedded residential unit for people with dementia. The role involves providing person-centred care tailored to the individual needs of the service users, supporting their daily living skills, and participating in activities. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of the needs of older people with dementia, effective communication skills, and the ability to produce clear and accurate records.
Job responsibilities
Provide an excellent standard of care to all service users, promoting their right to privacy, dignity, choice, and independence. Enable service users to engage in and develop interests, maintain wellbeing, and be part of the community.
Requirements
An enhanced DBS check will be required for this role.
Working hours are 28 hours per week and 21 hours per week, with a mixture of early and late shifts (7:30 am - 3:00 pm and 2:30 pm - 10:00 pm). Shifts include weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.
