Salary: £24,500 - £30,000 (depending on experience) + training & progression

We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Trainee Retrofit Assessor, Surveyor & Air Tightness Testing Technician to join our West Yorkshire team. This is a unique opportunity to develop expertise across three specialist areas:
* Retrofit Assessments (PAS 2035 compliance)

* Domestic and commercial airtightness testing

Job Description: Trainee Retrofit Assessor, Surveyor & Air Tightness Testing Technician
Location: Ellandbased, (travel across region required)
Hours: 37.5 per week (Mon–Fri)
Contract: Permanent
Purpose of Role
To support the delivery of energy efficiency and retrofit projects by carrying out property surveys, undertaking airtightness testing, and assisting in the preparation of Retrofit Assessments under PAS 2035. This is a trainee role with full training and qualifications provided by Madison May Consulting.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out domestic and small commercial property surveys (measurements, construction details, photographic records).
* Assist qualified assessors in producing Retrofit Assessments and data collection for EPCs.
* Undertake airtightness testing (training to ATTMA Level 1/2 provided).
* Input site data into software systems (RdSAP, PAS Hub, Airtightness testing software).
* Ensure all works are delivered to PAS 2030/2035 standards and Building Regulations.
* Communicate with residents, site staff, and clients in a professional manner.
* Follow health & safety requirements and company procedures at all times.
* Contribute to quality assurance, reporting, and continuous improvement.
Training & Development
The role includes structured training towards:
* Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA)
* Retrofit Assessor (PAS 2035)
* Air Tightness Testing Technician (ATTMA accreditation)
* Ongoing CPD in energy efficiency, building surveying, and retrofit standards
Person Specification
Essential:
* Interest in construction, building physics, energy efficiency, or surveying
* Willingness to learn and gain qualifications
* Basic IT literacy (MS Office, data entry software)
* Good communication and customer service skills
* Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
* Experience in construction, surveying, or energy efficiency (formal or informal)
* Knowledge of PAS 2030/2035, retrofit, or sustainability issues
* Technical or vocational qualification in construction or engineering
