Working as their Architectural / CAD Technician, you'll join a team of 8 designers within an overall Property team of 40+, assisting in the delivery of schemes on and off site as they continue to expand and invest in their £multi-million programme of works. Your new role
As an Architectural / CAD Technician, you'll be responsible for producing accurate architectural drawings (plans, elevations, sections, and details) using AutoCAD to support planning applications, building regulations submissions, and construction documentation. You'll assist in the preparation and coordination of planning applications, including supporting documents, statements, and drawings in line with local authority requirements. Working alongside other Team Members, you'll provide sketch designs in support of the preparation of feasibility studies for new build and capital projects including major and minor works. Along with colleagues, but also independently you'll carry out site surveys and visits, gathering accurate data to inform design and drawing work, and monitor construction progress where necessary. Along with the wider team, you shall ensurepliance with UK Building Regulations, planning policy, and relevant technical standards in all drawing and documentation work.
What you'll need to succeed
You'll have a minimum of a Foundation Degree or higher in Architecture or a closely related field ( Construction or Engineering), along with a minimum of 2 year’s professional experience working within an architectural practice or in house design team. Ideally you'll have a familiarity with UK Building Regulations, planning policy and the planning application process. Demonstrable experience using AutoCAD to produce accurate, high-quality architectural drawings with precise measurements and technical detail is essential, with wider software skills (IE Revit, ArchiCAD, Sketchup, Illustrator etc) desirable. Proficiency using MS Office Packages and a full UK Driving licence are also required for this position.
