As an Advanced Learning Support Assistant (ALSA), you will work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and external specialists to implement support strategies tailored to individual learners. Your role involves providing targeted academic, emotional, and behavioural support to help raise achievement and promote positive outcomes across all key stages.

* Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties.
* Deliver targeted interventions in literacy, numeracy, communication, and social skills.
* Assist in planning and adapting classroom activities to ensure accessibility and engagement for all learners.
* Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress and behaviour, feeding back to staff and parents/carers as appropriate.
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and support services to implement EHCP targets and personalised learning plans.
* Support transitions within and between educational settings.
* Contribute to developing inclusive teaching resources and strategies.
Minimum requirements include:
* Experience working with children or young people with additional learning needs, preferably in a school or educational setting.
* A relevant Level 3 qualification or above (e.g., Supporting Teaching and Learning, Child Development, or equivalent).
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and behaviour management skills.
* Empathy, patience, and a positive, solution-focused approach.
* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
* Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
* Level 3 teaching/support qualification or higher.
* Previous experience working with children or young people, or a minimum of a Level 2 qualification (grade 4 or above in English and Mathematics).
