The Opportunity
An established and growing building services contractor is looking to strengthen its commercial team with the appointment of a Mechanical Estimator. This is a key role within the business, focused on securing and delivering high-quality commercial projects across a range of sectors.
The Role
As a Mechanical Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders, working closely with internal teams and external clients. You'll play a vital role in developing new business opportunities while maintaining strong relationships with existing clients.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed and accurate mechanical tenders and quotations
Review specifications, drawings, and project requirements
Develop client relationships and identify new tender opportunities
Collaborate with delivery and commercial teams throughout the bid process
Value engineer solutions to ensure competitiveness and efficiency
Manage tender submissions to tight deadlines
Attend client and site meetings where required
Support contract handover and ongoing commercial activities
About You
Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator within building services
Strong knowledge of commercial mechanical installations
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
Experience working on commercial projects
Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable
Experience with HVAC, plumbing, and public health systems
Knowledge of current industry regulations and standards
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office
