Specialist primary teacher (sen/semh)

Immingham
Tradewind Recruitment
Primary teacher
Posted: 27 October
Offer description

Are you a teacher who believes that every child can thrive when given the right support, structure, and care? Do you see beyond labels-recognising the potential in each young learner, even when the path is not straightforward?

We are looking for dedicated and compassionate Primary Teachers to join our brand-new Specialist Satellite Provision in North Lincolnshire, supporting pupils in Key Stages 1 and 2 with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is a unique opportunity to shape a nurturing and aspirational learning environment from the very beginning-helping pupils develop emotionally, socially, and academically within a highly supportive setting.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Teacher in our new provision, you will:

1. Create an Inclusive Learning Environment
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the needs of pupils with a variety of learning profiles, including ASD, ADHD, communication difficulties, and social or emotional needs.

2. Support Emotional and Behavioural Development
Use trauma-informed, relational, and restorative approaches to help pupils regulate emotions, develop positive behaviours, and build resilience.

3. Work Collaboratively
Partner with our SENDCo, teaching assistants, therapists, and pastoral team to create individualised education and behaviour support plans that enable pupils to make meaningful progress.

4. Foster Trust and Belonging
Be a consistent, caring adult who builds secure relationships-offering safety, structure, and encouragement to pupils who may have struggled to engage in mainstream settings.

5. Champion Safeguarding and Wellbeing
Ensure all pupils feel safe, valued, and supported. Follow safeguarding procedures and uphold the highest standards of professional care.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking teachers who are:

6. Passionate about inclusive education and breaking down barriers to learning

7. Skilled at nurturing children's emotional and social development

8. Calm, patient, and creative in supporting children with challenging behaviours

9. Committed to working as part of a multi-disciplinary team

10. Reflective practitioners who seek out professional development

Essential Skills and Experience

11. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

12. Experience teaching in Primary settings (KS1 or KS2)

13. A solid understanding of SEND and/or SEMH needs and how they impact learning

14. Experience using differentiated and individualised teaching strategies

15. A commitment to trauma-informed and restorative practices

Desirable (But Not Essential)

16. Experience working in specialist provisions, PRUs, or inclusive mainstream settings

17. Additional qualifications in SEN, SEMH, or therapeutic approaches

18. Training in Team Teach, MAPA, or similar de-escalation techniques

This Role is Perfect If You:

19. Believe in second chances-and in helping children find success on their own terms

20. Are excited by the opportunity to help build a new, specialist provision from the ground up

21. Thrive in a setting where teamwork, creativity, and compassion are at the heart of everything you do

22. Want to see the tangible difference your work makes in children's lives every day

What We Offer

23. A rare opportunity to help shape a brand-new, forward-thinking SEN/SEMH provision

24. A highly supportive leadership team that values wellbeing and professional growth

25. Access to ongoing CPD in areas such as trauma-informed practice, SEND pedagogy, and emotional regulation

26. A collaborative and caring school community that truly transforms lives

Ready to Help Us Build Something Special?

If you're ready to bring your expertise, compassion, and creativity to a team dedicated to changing outcomes for young learners, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply: Send your CV and a short cover letter (max 2 A4 pages) explaining why you're the right fit.
