Constructions R US is a growing design and build office specialising in extensions, refurbishments, and new builds primarily across the residential sector within the North-West London region.
Role Overview:
This is a full-time hybrid role and is ideal for a recent architecture graduate looking to gain hands-on experience across both the design and construction phases of residential projects. You’ll assist in developing concept designs, interior layouts, and 3D visualisations, while also contributing to practical on-site building tasks ensuring projects are built to design specifications. A unique opportunity to work across the full RIBA Plan of Work, bridging design creativity with real-world construction.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, develop, understand and deliver across the RIBA Plan of Work under the guidance of the project leader or nominated architect, responsibilities across these stages are detailed below.
Develop, where required, representations of design options for further discussion by the design team
Seek to understand the design project, assist in the planning and project management.
Gain practical experience to enrich understandings of project management and the architecture, engineering and construction industry.
Manage and contribute on site where required to ensure project deadlines and design standards are met through frequent and consistent site visits.
Attend site meetings to track build progress and provide support with construction coordination
Help review and resolve on-site design queries
Carry out basic on-site construction support such as:
Site preparation, general labouring, and tool handling. As well as managing tradespeople.
DIY-level repair work, fitting finishes, or assisting joinery and plastering teams
Support trades on-site with practical tasks and learn hands-on building methods
Ensure cleanliness, safety, and organisation of work areas
Follow site health & safety protocols and contribute to a safe working environment
Essential Skills & Experience:
Evidence of a good design understanding e.g. a good design portfolio
Minimum RIBA Part 1 in an Architectural Discipline (or equivalent)
A willingness to learn and deliver across all RIBA work stages
Proficiency with CAD software – Revit, Sketchup, Rhino, AutoCAD
Ability to create high-quality 3D models using CAD software
Ability to use a variety of media in the development and documentation of a design project
A keen eye for interior design and spatial layouts
Good working knowledge of architectural drawings, planning standards and UK building regulations
Willingness to work on-site and learn general building tasks
Full Uk Drivers License
Resilient to cope with conflicting demands, able to prioritise duties and work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines efficiently and effectively budget
Able to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential information
Evidence of the ability to understand design decisions taken by others
Strong organisational and communication skills - able to build good relationships at all levels, internally and externally.
Desirable:
Ability to use the following: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
