Solution Architect
Role: Solution Architect (Azure / Microsoft)
Location: London / Hybrid
Type: Contract (Outside IR35)

Overview:
Our client, a leading accountancy firm that has recently undergone multiple acquisitions, is seeking an experienced Solution Architect to support the CIO. The role will involve reviewing current systems and processes, helping define the “to-be” architecture, and supporting strategy for integrating multiple Practice Management Systems and other applications in a Microsoft/Azure environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Review and document current (“as-is”) processes and systems across multiple acquired businesses.
* Collaborate with the CIO and leadership to define future (“to-be”) architecture.
* Produce clear visual diagrams and models of business processes, system architecture, and integration points.
* Support integration strategy for Practice Management Systems, SaaS applications, and Microsoft/Azure stack.
* Challenge and validate solutions to ensure they align with business strategy and technical standards.
* Support data flow mapping, system interconnectivity, and automation planning.
Required Skills & Experience:
* Strong Enterprise / Solution Architecture experience, ideally in professional services or financial services.
* Proven experience with Microsoft Azure, cloud services, and integration of multiple systems.
* Knowledge of Practice Management Systems (e.g., Xero, Karbon, Iris) is highly desirable.
* Excellent process mapping, visualization, and documentation skills (Visio, Lucidchart, ArchiMate, etc.).
* Experience supporting post-merger / acquisition integrations.
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Optional / Nice-to-Have:
* Hybrid BA/Architect experience – capturing requirements and producing technical designs.
* Knowledge of Power Platform, Dynamics 365, or API/ETL integration.
