Field Service Engineer – Control Systems
Location: Midlands (with travel to customer sites)
Salary: £42,000 DOE
OTE: ~£55,000+
Benefits: 23 days holiday + bank holidays, workplace pension, time off in lieu for weekend work

Shifts Available: Standard 37.5-hour week with flexibility for overtime and occasional weekend/overnight work

Overview of the Field Service Engineer Role:
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, wiring, and commissioning of control systems across a variety of industrial environments. You'll work both in the workshop and on-site, supporting the deployment of advanced automation systems and ensuring high-quality electrical installations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Install control panels, cable containment, 24V DC and mains wiring, motors, sensors, and I/O nodes
* Terminate field cables and wire control panels to CAD specifications
* Travel to customer sites for installation and commissioning phases
* Support integration of PLCs, CNCs, servo drives, and inverters
* Collaborate closely with in-house electrical designers
* Perform I/O testing and Fieldbus checks (desirable)
Candidate Requirements:
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
* Strong understanding of electrical systems and safety regulations
* Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
* Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
* Willingness to travel, work weekends, and stay overnight when required
* Desirable: PLC experience for I/O and Fieldbus testing
