🌱 We’re Hiring! Two new roles - Special Assistant to the CEO & Project Officer
🌍 Travel | 🕒 Full‑time
The Sustainable Food Trust is looking to fill two new positions.
We are looking for an organised, proactive and mission‑driven Special Assistant to support our CEO, Patrick Holden, in his work championing sustainable food and farming.
We are also looking for a Projects Officer to provide day to day coordination and delivery support to the Sustainable Food Trusts wide range of projects, campaigns and events.
Special Assistant - Bristol or London | Regular travel required
In this role, you’ll:
• Manage diary, inbox and travel logistics
• Help prepare briefings for meetings & events
• Support project follow‑up and organisation
• Draft social media posts and assist with online content
• Work with our comms team on messaging and media prep
• Keep track of political and sector developments
• Help maintain relationships across politics, business and civil society
We’re looking for:
* Degree in a relevant field
* Strong organisation & communication skills
* A proactive, calm and adaptable approach
* Interest in sustainability, politics, food systems or comms
* Enthusiasm to learn and grow
Project Officer
Hybrid (home & office) with regular travel to Bristol + UK farms | Driving license desirable
In this role, you'll:
* Keep project timelines on track and coordinate meetings
* Support delivery of events from planning to execution
* Assist in implementing project activities aligned to SFT’s strategy
* Work with policy, communications and research teams on project outputs
* Act as a friendly, proactive point of contact for stakeholders
* Support project finances, tracking spend and processing invoices
* Contribute to grant applications and funder reporting
We're looking for:
* Strong interest in sustainable food systems
* Experience in project coordination or administration
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Highly organised, detail‑focused, and able to prioritise effectively
* A collaborative team‑player able to build positive relationships
* Solid IT skills (Microsoft Office essential)
* Adaptable, motivated and aligned with SFT’s values
