The role is suited to someone seeking to lead projects from cradle to grave. Maybe you've taken accountability for projects within your role as a Maintenance Engineer and are seeking to grow your career further in this area.
The successfully appointed individual will be joining a team of project engineers. You will bring strengths in mechanical engineering with exposure to lathes, milling and similar. Ideally, you will work in a heavy industrial environment, such as chemical, petro chemical, oil, gas, energy and/ or steel manufacturing.
What your accountabilities will look like:
* Effectively lead engineering projects from conception to hand over and provide continued technical support post handover
* Support other engineering projects and maintenance activities
* Routinely achieve individual targets and make significant contributions to team and company objectives
* Deliver continuous improvement initiatives for wider business benefit
* Key point of contact for operations and maintenance support requirements.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a self-starting individual, someone that strives for continuous improvement and is able to lead a project to completion. You will have some exposure to Project Management and be passionate about carving your career further. In addition, you will:
* Hold a HNC, Degree or similar in Mechanical discipline or equivalent
* You'll have working knowledge of project management techniques and tools.
* First class communication skills are essential as you will work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth completion of projects.
* Good working knowledge of computer packages, such as Microsoft Office and MS projects (Or similar)
* An efficient problem solver and analytical skills, for example RCA & Pareto
* Track record of successfully leading multidisciplinary project teams
* Managing complex projects from conception to commissioning
* Design and construction of industrial machinery and systems installation, commissioning and maintenance of industrial machinery
* Consideration will be given to an experienced mechanical technician looking for career progression into a project engineering role.
* Wide knowledge of site assets
* Health and Safety legislation and design codes
* Demonstrated competence / understanding of site safety systems, including permit to work procedures and other company policies.
* The correct right to work in the UK without restriction or expiry
