This role is one of three EDI Projects Co-ordinators within our new Civic and Inclusivity Team, part of Research and External Engagement (REE). EDI Projects Co-ordinators work on a range of positive action projects which aim to address barriers to success for particular groups of students and improve outcomes. Current projects include: Equity, a personaldevelopment programme for global majority students, supporting them to build the confidence and skills to succeed at university and secure good graduate outcomes. UWE Futures, offering work experience and mentoring opportunities for global majority students with a range of local employers. Deepening Practice-Based Learning, a programme of work under UWEs Access and Participation Plan to ensure that all students at UWE have the opportunity to engage in meaningful work-related experience. This role will have a particular focus on Equity, helping us to develop and grow the programme and ensure it is fully embedded across all of UWEs Schools and Colleges, but will also contribute to other projects. Research and External Engagement (REE) is a new integrated service dedicated to driving forward the Universitys ambitions for research, innovation, skills and enterprise.? This professional service works to support our students, drive research excellence, upskill and reskill the regions workforce, strengthen relationships and engagement with our alumni, business and community partners. Through cutting-edge research initiatives, hands-on learning opportunities, strategic partnerships, civic leadership, and skills delivery, we will empower individuals to thrive in an ever-changing world. The Civic and Inclusivity team within REE will develop and deliver the Universitys civic and social impact ambitions, identifying opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration with regional government, civic and community partners. The team will develop and deliver projects and activities that create social value, inclusive growth and opportunities for all, enhancing student and staff experiences through community engagement, voluntary action, and enterprise-driven social impact. About you You will have experience of developing and delivering inspiring events and activities that engage students. You will work collaboratively across the university to develop a programme of activities over the academic year, and an effective communications plan to engage students with the range of support services and opportunities available. You will have the skills to develop and manage networks external to the university and secure high-profile and diverse contributors to our programmes. You will have a good understanding of EDI issues for students at universities and, in particular, the experiences of Global Majority students. Working with a wide range of colleagues, you will have the scope to test out new approaches, as well as to evaluate and measure impact of these approaches. You will bring your experience of project management, organisational and administrative skills and creativity to a role that will be varied, often self-directed, and making a real difference to the lived experience of an inclusive culture at UWE. This post is available on a job share basis for applicants wishing to work part time.
