Our Forest School programme is a vital part of our approach, giving children opportunities to build confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of nature through hands-on outdoor experiences.
We are now introducing a brand new Forest School Leader role within the nursery – an exciting opportunity to shape and grow our outdoor learning offer. We are looking for someone passionate and enthusiastic to work alongside us in creating a fabulous vision for Forest School at Park Farm Day Nursery.
Role Overview
As our Forest School Leader, you will plan, deliver, and lead inspiring outdoor sessions for children aged 0–5, encouraging them to learn and grow through exploration, play, and adventure. You'll be responsible for creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive outdoor environment that sparks curiosity and nurtures a respect for nature.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging Forest School sessions in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
* Inspire and support children to take part in outdoor activities such as den building, fire lighting, tool use, nature crafts, and wildlife exploration.
* Work with the nursery team to build a shared vision for Forest School that reflects our values and the needs of our children.
* Foster children's confidence, resilience, teamwork, and problem-solving skills through child-led learning.
* Ensure health, safety, and safeguarding procedures are always followed during outdoor sessions.
* Maintain and manage Forest School equipment and resources.
* Collaborate with colleagues and families to celebrate the benefits of outdoor learning.
About You
* Qualified Forest School Leader (Level 3 or working towards).
* Experience of delivering outdoor learning sessions for young children.
* A genuine passion for nature, the outdoors, and learning through play.
* Enthusiastic, creative, and able to inspire curiosity in children.
* Strong knowledge of health and safety in outdoor environments.
* A team player who enjoys working collaboratively and contributing ideas.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £12.45-£13.90 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 41 per week
