Job Description:
Within the Engineering team, the Lead Mechanical Engineer will integrate operational engineering multi-discipline teams delivering projects at various phases, from FEED to commissioning, or in assistance to Plant Operation in the UK.
Role and Responsibilities
* Ensuring appropriate and adequate design standards and practices are deployed, and deliverables are safe, legal, and well-supported.
* Performing timely design review activities.
* Engaging subject matter experts appropriately and promptly, capturing, disseminating, and utilizing lessons learned.
* Managing mechanical handling studies, heavy mechanical transfer systems, powder mechanical processes, gloveboxes, and related technologies.
* Overseeing mechanical process design from conceptual to detailed phases, including deliverables like technical notes, flow diagrams, drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
* Travel may be required between Client's sites occasionally.

Requirements
The Mechanical Engineering team values diversity and welcomes candidates with transferable skills; minimum role requirements are flexible and assessed case-by-case.
Preferred qualifications include:
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field
* 10+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer
* Experience in engineering design within regulated sectors like nuclear
* Experience in mechanical studies, handling, powder technologies, and related areas
* Experience managing contractors in regulated environments
* Experience working on Sellafield or Magnox sites (desirable)
* Membership in relevant professional bodies
* Recognized SME status
* UK 'SC' Security Clearance or higher
* Experience on nuclear or highly regulated sites
* Hybrid working model with at least 2 days in-office
* 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with additional days based on tenure
* One professional membership paid by the company
