Assessment Social Worker Are you a committed and skilled Social Worker ready to make a difference from the very first point of contact? Torbay Council is looking for a passionate Assessment Social Worker to join our frontline team, working with children and families at the earliest stage of their journey with social care. In this fast-paced and rewarding role, you will: Undertake Child and Family Assessments under Section 17 and 47 of the Children Act. Respond to new referrals and concerns about the safety and wellbeing of children. Work in partnership with families and professionals to identify risks, strengths, and appropriate support. Make clear, evidence-based recommendations for next steps, including Child in Need, Child Protection, or early help services. Contribute to strategy discussions, case conferences, and court proceedings where required. We're looking for an Assessment Social Worker who: Is qualified and registered with Social Work England. Has experience in children's frontline services, particularly in assessment or safeguarding. Can manage a varied and fast-paced caseload effectively.
