Overview
Element is hiring a Lead Development Associate to join our team in Edinburgh to maximize sales opportunities by creating a world-class first impression for customers who contact Element through sales inquiry website forms and telephone numbers.
As the first point of contact for global customers, the Lead Development Associate plays a vital role in the Element sales process. The position involves multiple responsibilities aimed at delivering a high customer experience. This includes professionally answering incoming calls and emails from internal and external customers, asking sales-minded questions to pre-qualify requests, posing technical questions to clarify customer requirements, and efficiently assigning incoming leads to the most capable Element location.
This position is hybrid: 3 days in our Edinburgh office. It is a full-time role, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
Customer Focus
* Respond effectively to incoming calls, web inquiries, and emails using Element’s processes.
* Ask relevant questions and gather technical details to assign requests appropriately and inform the sales team.
* Meet KPIs such as response time, data accuracy, correct laboratory assignment, qualification rate, and leads won (£).
* Use tools and knowledge to assign requests promptly to the appropriate laboratories or sales teams.
* Build and maintain relationships with sales and operational colleagues.
* Complete follow-up communications as needed daily.
* Route customer questions/issues and follow up to ensure satisfaction.
* Accurately record lead information and activities in Dynamics CRM.
Ongoing Development
* Maintain current knowledge of Element’s services.
* Stay updated on developments in Element’s offerings and laboratory changes.
* Participate in training and coaching opportunities.
Skills / Qualifications
* At least 1 year of experience in sales, marketing, or customer service, or equivalent education and experience.
* Ability to interpret customer quotes, contracts, and testing specifications.
* Ability to understand customer problems and interpret instructions and data.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills fostering open communication.
* Experience with CRM systems, especially Microsoft D365, is a plus.
* Must be able to work in the Edinburgh location 3 days a week.
