Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist - Independent Clinician Network
We are seeking dedicated Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists to join our growing team on site in Basingstoke. Hybrid and flexible working options are available.
Overview
Location: Basingstoke, RG21 4AB. Employment type: self-employed, outside IR35. Work arrangement includes on-site assessments with remote options where appropriate.
Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive developmental histories and autism assessments using preferred methods/tools.
* Conduct ADHD assessments for children and young people aged 3–18 years.
* Observe sessions with age-appropriate, compassionate questioning.
* Review ADOS reports, developmental history, and collateral information from home and school within the same session.
* Formulate diagnoses, provide feedback to families in a kind, age-appropriate manner, and give recommendations with signposting to local/national resources.
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (MDT) in planned clinics and in cases requiring additional information, with a follow-up session if needed.
* Produce high-quality, detailed diagnostic reports within 48 hours post-assessment, adhering to DSM-5 criteria and report templates (admin support provided for formatting and quality control).
* Request onward referrals as clinically necessary in line with local NHS Trust/ICB protocols.
What We’re Looking For
* GMC-registered doctor with a valid license to practice.
* CCT in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry preferred but not essential.
* Expertise and confidence in ASD and ADHD assessments for children and young people.
* Ability to travel to Basingstoke to undertake assessments in person.
* Up to date with revalidation and appraisal processes.
