We are delighted to offer an opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated maternity community support worker to join our community midwifery team.
Position Details
This role is based at Wycombe Hospital, with some cross-site working required.
Role Responsibilities
1. Support midwives in delivering care to women at all stages of pregnancy and post-birth.
2. Perform home visits and work with the wider multi-agency team in care settings, including children's centres.
3. Assist community midwives in clinics, support mothers with feeding, and participate in antenatal classes and unit tours.
4. Work as an integral member of the multidisciplinary maternity care team, ensuring care is provided with competence, compassion, and respect, adhering to principles of consent, equality, and diversity.
5. Undertake delegated tasks under the guidance of midwives once trained and deemed competent, understanding the responsibilities and limitations of the role.
6. Monitor mothers and babies, reporting any deviations from normal or concerns regarding physical, mental/emotional, and social well-being.
7. Maintain client confidence and trust by performing duties confidently, courteously, and sympathetically.
8. Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with staff, patients, relatives, and visitors.
