Kitchen Assistant - Afternoon/evenings at Pilgrims' Friend Society
We are looking for a talented individual who will be a tea-time Kitchen Assistant in our residential care home for older people in Stowmarket, Suffolk. Finborough Court is a modern and spacious home in the quiet, rural village of Great Finborough. Our staff provide residential care, dementia care and respite care for 32 residents. The health, well-being and happiness of our residents is of primary importance to us.

Responsibilities
* Serve drinks and snacks to residents, prepare and serve light meals.
* Observe food hygiene regulations.
* Maintain a clean and hygienic working environment; tidy communal areas, wash, dry and store all crockery, cutlery and utensils.
* Maintain the kitchen, catering equipment and food storage rooms in a high state of cleanliness and tidiness.
* Maintain all records and control stock rotation when on duty.
* Work as part of a team and be willing to take on any task, within your capabilities, to provide an excellent service to our residents.
* Attend meetings and training activities as required.
* Perform other duties assigned by your manager from time to time that are within your capabilities.
We offer a full induction to the work and provide other training as required by the post.
About you
* You need to be someone who enjoys working with older people and can have empathy with them.
* You might have a basic food hygiene certificate and a food-related qualification (this would be an advantage but is not essential).
* You need to be able to work as part of a team in order to provide an excellent service to our residents.
* You need to be a well-organised, practical and adaptable person.
Hours
* Shifts: 3pm-8pm Tea shifts on a 4-weekly rota as follows:
* Week 1: Saturday
* Week 2: Sunday & Monday
* Week 3: n/a
* Week 4: Sunday, Monday Tuesday, Thursday & Friday
